SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 29

Recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of the 1995 West Virginia University Foundation Scholars.

Whereas, The West Virginia University Scholars Program recognizes the academic excellence of more than five hundred freshman annually, awarding a total of nearly two million dollars to outstanding high school students; and
Whereas, James R. Cox II of Nicholas County High School, Selena Dawn Gum of Clay-Battelle High School, Laine Marie Hall of George Washington High School, John Barrow Rayburn
of University High School and Nicole Taylor Sheets of Cabell Midland High School have been awarded the 1995 West Virginia University Foundation Scholarship Awards, which will pay full tuition, room and board, fees and textbooks throughout their career at West Virginia University; and
Whereas, These students join an elite group of forty-two West Virginia residents as recipients of this major award; and
Whereas, These students represent the highest ideals of academic excellence, leadership and extracurricular activity at their respective high schools; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates James R. Cox II, Selena Dawn Gum, Laine Marie Hall, John Barrow Rayburn and Nicole Taylor Sheets for their selection and acceptance of the 1995 West Virginia University Foundation Scholarship Award; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby requested to forward a copy of this resolution to James R. Cox II, Selena Dawn Gum, Laine Marie Hall, John Barrow Rayburn and Nicole Taylor Sheets, the 1995 recipients of the West Virginia University Scholars Program awards.
